INTRODUCTION
Likhaan: The UP Creative Writing Center awarded 10 fellowships to the UP National Writers' Workshop that was held in UP Miag-ao last Oct 15-21. The theme of the workshop was Iba Pang Tingong ("Other Voices") to emphasize the importance of regional literature.

The chosen fellows were JP ANthon Cunada (poetry in Hiligaynon), Agnes J. Espano, Yvonne Esperas (poetry in Waray), Arthur M. Gonzales (poetry in Sugbuanon), Raul G. Moldez (poetry in English), Dominador L. Pagliawan (fiction in Waray), Sam Prudente (poetry in Filipino), Noel D. Rama (poetry in Sugbuanon), Bernardo C. Vidal Jr. (poetry in English), and Geraldine Yap (Fiction in English).

The workshop was directed by Dr. Leoncio P. Deriada of UP Visayas, who was recently awarded the Gawad Balagtas by the Ugnayan ng mga Manunulat ng Pilipinas. The teaching panel was composed of UP CWC Associates Gemino H. Abad, Merlie M. Alunan, Ricardo M. de Ungria, Cristina Pantoja Hidalgo and Jun Cruz Reyes.

In conjuction with the workshop, the Department of Humanities of UP Visayas hosted a parallel seminar for teachers where Dr. Abad and Dr. Hidalgo delivered lectures on the writing and teaching of literature.
